A fantastic approach to further the PUBG mythology.
Every game we play takes place in its own universe, with its own narrative explaining why things are the way they are. Sometimes the mythology is provided within the game, while other times it is not as simple or possible. As a result, developers rely on third-party sources to supply tale content. As an example, consider the following.
PUBG company collaborated with Jonathan Frakes to create a short mockumentary in an attempt to offer lore information to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds gamers and anybody else interested. “Mysteries Unknown: Birth of the Battlegrounds.” is the title. In the form of a 1990s docuseries, the show recounts how the battle royale death battles all began in the PUBG universe.
Frakes is best known as Commander William Riker from Star Trek: The Next Generation, but he also presented a short-lived documentary series called Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction from 1998 to 2002. Drawing on his expertise hosting that programme, Frakes delivers a terrific deadpan performance that you’d think was genuine if you didn’t know any better.
The episode is only 17 minutes long and is very well done, even though it’s a total spoof on these types of shows. I won’t spoil the details. You can watch the episode above or visit the freshly-minted PUBG lore webpage to explore more of the Battlegrounds universe.
