The Islamic State claimed responsibility for a deadly attack on a village in Diyala province, east of Iraq, in a statement posted on an affiliated Telegram account on Wednesday.

Eleven people, including a woman, were killed and others were injured in an attack on Tuesday in the village of Al-Hawasha, near the town of Muqdadiya, according to Iraq’s Joint Operations Command, which blamed the attack on the Islamic State.
