The skydiver who died during a jump in Tauranga yesterday is being described as an experienced and valued member of the skydiving family.

The company, Skydive Tauranga, says the man was completing a solo jump after a normal free fall.

He had a safe parachute opening but suffered injuries as he landed.

In a statement, Skydive Tauranga says their thoughts and prayers are with the man’s family and friends.
