Police apologise for wrongly saying crash victim died

Police have apologised after incorrectly saying a person died in a crash two days ago, when the person is alive and in hospital.

A police statement said they wrongly stated yesterday that someone died in a car and bike crash on Lake Terrace in Taupō on Friday.

The person is actually in a stable condition in hospital.

Police “sincerely apologise” to the person, their family and friends, and those involved in the crash.
