A man has been charged with unlawfully possessing a firearm after reports of a shot being fired in an Auckland suburb.
Detective Senior Sergeant Glenn Baldwin said armed police went to a house on McCullough Avenue in Mt Roskill around 4am today.
A 36-year-old man is due to appear in court next week.
Baldwin said the public is concerned about recent events in the area.
He said police will maintain a presence in the area as they continue to investigate a previous firearms incident three weeks ago.
