In ‘Ron’s Gone Wrong,’ Zach Galifianakis plays a malfunctioning robot.

On Tuesday, Disney published the teaser for the forthcoming animated flick Ron’s Gone Wrong. The film, produced by Locksmith Animation and 20th Century Studios, will be released on October 22nd.

The B-Bot, a personal robot companion in the guise of a sentient iPhone, is introduced in the trailer. Ron (voice of Jack Dylan Grazer) receives a faulty B-Bot from Barney (voice of Zach Galifianakis).

Ron’s flaws generate problems for Barney. When Ron is supposed to discover Barney’s name, he keeps calling him “Registered Name” and he strangles a chicken in the kitchen.

Olivia Colman, Ed Helms, Justice Smith, Rob Delaney, Kylie Cantrall, Ricardo Hurtado, Marcus Scribner, and Thomas Barbusca provide additional voices. Jean-Philippe Vine, co-director, worked as a narrative artist on Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur and Inside Out, as well as directing episodes of Shaun the Sheep.

Vine will be working alongside Locksmith co-founder Sarah Smith. Smith co-wrote, co-directed, and co-produced Arthur Christmas, as well as The Pirates! Band of Misfits.

The third co-director is Octavio Rodriguez. His animation credits include the story departments of SpongeBob Squarepants, CatDog, Monsters University, Coco and Incredibles 2. Rodriguez directed episodes of the Captain Underpants TV series.
