Helicopters fight blaze in Clarence Valley near Kaikōura

Nine helicopters are working to put out a fire in the Ka Whata Tu O Rakihouia Conservation Park in the Clarence Valley near Kaikōura.

The fire has covered a 400 hectare area and has damaged a Department of Conservation Hut at Goose Flat.

Six people were evacuated from the area last night.
