Following the incident yesterday morning, the women suffered minor shotgun pellet injuries.
One woman’s lower leg was broken, and the other’s hip was injured.
According to police, the couple was walking along a track near the Clutha River when they were killed.
The duck shooters spoke to the women once they realised what happened and offered help, but then left the scene in their boat.
Police were notified of the incident when the women arrived at the Alexandra Medical Centre to be treated.
