Multiple sources said Saturday that French actress Lea Seydoux tested positive for COVID-19, putting her trip to the Cannes International Film Festival for the premieres of her four projects in jeopardy.
Seydoux, who is projected to be one of the festival’s stars this year, was supposed to arrive in Cannes on Friday for press events and film premieres.
But those plans have now been canceled after she opted to remain home in Paris out of an abundance of caution, following her doctors’ advice, Deadline reported.
The films include French Dispatch scheduled to premier Monday night, Deception (Tuesday), The Story of My Wife (Wednesday), and France (Thursday).
The star contracted COVID-19 on the production of a current film, Variety reported.
A spokeswoman for the actress told Variety that despite being completely vaccinated and asymptomatic, she tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the spokesman, Seydoux will remain in quarantine until physicians determine she is safe to go.
