Why Lil Peep fans are upset with Quavo

Lil Peep fans are incensed that Quavo may have dissed the late rapper on his new album “Quavo Huncho.”

The lyrics in question, which have been the subject of speculation since the album dropped late Thursday night, are featured on the song “Big Bro.”

On the track, the Migos emcee raps, “Think you poppin’ Xanax bars, but it’s Fentanyl / Think you’re living life like rock stars but you’re dead now.”

Although Quavo, 27, doesn’t explicitly identify who he is referring to, Lil Peep fans think it’s clear he’s rapping about the late artist.

Lil Peep, who frequently referred to himself as a rock star, died of a Fentanyl and Xanax overdose while on tour in Arizona last November. He was just 21 at the time of his death.

His friend, British rapper Bexey, highlighted this in a video posted to Instagram, saying that Quavo needed to explain whether or not the similarities were coincidental or intentional.

“If the f—king song ain’t about him, the lyrics ain’t about him, then explain it,” he said. “Because that s—t’s disgusting. There’s a whole army of people waiting to shut your s—t down.”

A rep for Quavo did not respond to a request for comment.
