1. Eleven-year-old Jeffery Enukanerhirhe, yesterday died after the building of St. Paul’s Catholic Church collapsed at Adagbrassa-Ugolo Community in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

Many were also injured and hospitalized in the ugly incident during the first mass at about 7am.

2. Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has gained more members after Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his loyalists defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mohammed said he and his party were not bothered about the gale of defection to the PDP in his home state, Kwara.

3. Peoples Democratic Party presidential aspirant, Ibrahim Shekarau, on Sunday, expressed confidence that the multiple number of contenders vying for the PDP 2019 presidential ticket would not lead to the party’s implosion.

A statement signed by Governor Seriake Dickson’s media aide, Francis Agbo, said Shekarau spoke after a visit to Dickson’s Toru-Orua country home in Sagbama Local Government Area.

4. The Southern and Middle-Belt Leaders’ Forum has warned against a plot by some Presidency officials allegedly led by Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, to remove Acting Director-General of the Department of State Services, DSS, Matthew Seyeifa from office.

The group stated that it would have ignored the reported plan to remove Seyeifa “but for the clannishness, sectional proclivity and exclusive handling of the security architecture of the country by President Buhari in the last three years.”

5. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it was yet to receive any formal complaint about the last week’s proposed N1m for State Assembly aspirants, N3.8m for House of Representatives aspirants, N8.5 for Senate aspirants, N22.5m for governorship aspirants and N55.5m for presidential nomination forms for the 2019 general election.

APC National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, explained that what the National Working Committee (NWC) presented before National Executive Committee (NEC) was a proposal which was being considered.

6. Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have met in Abuja, hours after the party leadership warned against the convening of the meeting.

The APC acting National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, said that the meeting was aimed at faulting the decisions made by the party, regarding the procedure for the primaries to elect candidates ahead of 2019.

7. Special Assistant on Project Monitoring to Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Utibe Idem, has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The governor’s aide and other defectors were received into the APC by the state Chairman of the party, Mr. Ini Okopido, in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of the state at a mega-rally and reception in honour of Mr. Umana Umana, who is the Managing Director of Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority and the 2015 governorship candidate of the APC.

8. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has appointed the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, as well as the governors of Sokoto and Benue states, Aminu Tambuwal and Samuel Ortom respectively into National Campaign Council for the governorship election in Osun State.

Saraki was appointed by the PDP to chair its National Campaign Council, while Tambuwal and Ortom are members of the council.

9. Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu on Sunday revealed that he gave the All Progressives Congress, APC, N5m in 2014.

He spoke shortly after his constituents, including the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, said there was no alternative to him (Ekweremadu) at the moment.

10. The All Progressives Congress (APC) says it is amused by the interest the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has in the mode of primaries to elect its (APC) candidates for the 2019 elections.

APC spokesman, Yekini Nabena, in a statement on Sunday said PDP seems to be gradually conceding defeat knowing that it will run against President Muhammadu Buhari next year.
