Microsoft Releases Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB4345215

Update only aimed at Windows insider systems

Microsoft has just released a new cumulative update for Windows 10, but this time only systems that are enrolled in the Windows Insider program are getting it.

Windows 10 cumulative update KB4345215 is thus being pushed to Fast ring devices, and Microsoft explains that with this patch, the OS version is bumped to 17713.1002.

As for what’s supposed to change after installing this cumulative update, Microsoft says its purpose is to prepare the servicing stack for releasing Windows 10 build 17713 to computers that have previously been registered for the Slow ring.

What’s very important to know, however, is that this cumulative update breaks down Windows Defender Application Guard. This issue will most likely be resolved when a new build is released, possibly as soon as this week.
"Windows 10 build 17713"

Thanks to this cumulative update, the Slow ring should shortly receive Windows 10 build 17713, which was originally released to the Fast ring earlier this month.

Build 17713 is one of the last major releases for Redstone 5, as Microsoft is getting ready to begin stabilization of this new OS feature update and begin shipping updates as part of the RS5_RELEASE branch.

“We are getting close to the point in the development cycle where our focus will be on stabilization for RS5. As part of the stabilization process, we have “forked” RS5 into its own branch called “RS5_RELEASE” just like we did for RS4 and RS3 before that. Insiders will see this branch change with today’s build,” Dona Sarkar, head of the Windows Insider program, said last week when this build was released.

The new cumulative update can be downloaded from Windows Update on Insider machines, and it comes as a very light package that takes only a few seconds to download and install. No other issues have been reported until now.
