Get Ready: Microsoft to Release New Windows 10 Cumulative Updates

The Patch Tuesday rollout officially kicks off tomorrow
By Bogdan Popa

Microsoft will kick off this month’s Patch Tuesday rollout tomorrow, and as it happens every time, Windows 10 is projected to receive new cumulative updates as well.

Cumulative updates published on Patch Tuesday include both security and non-security improvements, and this is why it’s critical for users to at least see what’s fixed on every rollout.

While Microsoft typically recommends users to install these updates as soon as possible, mostly because they address vulnerabilities in its products, some prefer to wait in order to determine whether there are any issues that could cause bugs on their systems.

Windows 10 cumulative updates have a long history of such problems, and until now, Microsoft still hasn’t managed to resolve them. Nearly every single such update published by the company leads to more or less critical issues on Windows 10 devices, and most often, users are all on their own in their attempt to fix them.
"Windows 10 April 2018 Update"

Out of the cumulative updates expected to be shipped this month, the one aimed at Windows 10 April 2018 Update is one of the most important.

With April 2018 Update now the most widely used version of Windows 10, and according to Microsoft already broadly available for all users, it’s critical for both the company and users who installed it to fix issues as soon as possible.

The April 2018 Update was published as a manual download on April 30, while the automatic rollout started on May 8 via Windows Update.

The number of bugs reported by users, however, increased in May and June, so Microsoft still has plenty of issues to fix with this month’s rollout.

As always, we’ll be keeping an eye out on reports pointing to issues caused by Windows 10 cumulative updates and let you know should any issues be experienced.
