Abu Dhabi airport ‘struck’ by drone, say Houthis

Yemen’s Iranian-aligned Houthi movement said today it had attacked Abu Dhabi airport in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a drone.

There was no immediate comment from UAE authorities on the report on the Houthi-run Yemeni TV station Al Masirah, and no information was available regarding damage or casualties which resulted from the attack.

Abu Dhabi airport tweeted earlier in the day that there had been an incident involving a supply vehicle which had not affected operations, but it was unclear if it was referring to the same incident.

Official Houthi Telegram group channels notified followers of an attack on Abdu Dhabi airport.

Earlier today, UAE Foreign Minister Anwar Gargash called out the Houthis for being “irresponsible” for striking Saudi Arabia’s Aramco oil ship in the Red Sea. Saudi Arabia has since suspended all oil transfers in the Bab El Mandeb, while Kuwait is mulling over doing the same according to Gulf News.
