ASUS’ New ZenBook Pro Laptop Really Makes Apple’s Touch Bar Look Ridiculous

ASUS has just unveiled the company’s new ZenBook Pro Windows 10 laptop, which comes not only with state-of-the-art hardware, but also with a super-innovative feature called ScreenPad.

Before jumping straight into details, let’s see what ScreenPad is all about. Placed right where the touchpad would normally be, ScreenPad is a new feature that plays multiple roles.

First and foremost, it’s a regular touchpad with Precision capabilities and up to four-finger gestures. It’s covered by glass to be easier to use and resist the typical fingerprints, scratches, and smudges that touchpads are almost all the time covered by.

ScreenPad is then a 5.5-inch display that has super-useful features. For example, it comes with a Screen Extender mode that brings parts of the desktop right to the touchpad, creating what’s more of a simplified version of a dual-screen device. Then, it plays the role of a secondary bar similar to Apple’s Touch Bar, but it can be further customized with shortcuts defined by every user, gestures, app features, and so much more.

Basically, you are able to perform all kinds of tasks in Windows 10 or within apps straight from the ScreenPad, all depending on your settings.
"Hardware specifications"

When it comes to technical specs, the ZenBook Pro is by all means impressive. It features a 15.6-inch 4K display with small bezels and no less than 83% screen-to-body ratio and is powered by up to Intel Core i9-8950HK processor paired with a maximum of 16GB RAM.

In terms of graphics, the device is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti card with 4GB GDDR5 VRAM, while for storage the top configuration boasts a 1TB SSD.

The device also comes with a pen and a battery that can last for up to 9.5 hours per charge, while also boasting fast charging to get 60% in just 49 minutes.

ASUS hasn’t announced the launch date of this new laptop, and pricing details will be released at a later time.
