Fox Sports has become the newest broadcast partner for the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, the NFL Players Association announced Wednesday.
The multi-year agreement will begin with the sixth annual game on Jan. 21, 2017. The contest will be played at StubHub Center on the campus of California State in greater Los Angeles.
"We are excited to have Fox Sports on board with us for the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl as we help the next generation of football players realize their dreams of making it to the pros," NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith said. "We believe that this partnership will help further solidify the NFLPA as the best organization to support NFL prospects."
John Entz, Fox Sports' president of production and executive producer, also was quick to applaud the move.
"The opportunity to partner with the NFLPA and present the Collegiate Bowl on FS1 was something we jumped at," Entz said. "The pre-draft evaluation process drives more and more interest among football fans every year, so we're looking forward to being a part of that and covering a competitive game."
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Trevone Boykin, San Diego Chargers linebacker Jatavis Brown and Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Chris Conley previously competed in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, a game for NFL draft-eligible college players.
