The Tennessee Titans released struggling veteran cornerback Perrish Cox on Monday.
Cox, signed by the Titans in March 2015, recorded three interceptions in 11 games this season, but he struggled in coverage in recent games.
The Titans reduced Cox's role in Sunday's 27-21 victory in Chicago against the Bears. He fell and left wide receiver Joshua Bellamy uncovered in the end zone during the Bears' final drive but Bellamy dropped an easy game-winning touchdown.
The Titans promoted rookie cornerback Kalan Reed from the practice squad to the team's 53-man roster to take Cox's place.
Reed, a seventh-round pick by the Titans in the 2016 draft, agreed to terms with the team on Monday morning.
In four seasons at Southern Mississippi (2012-15), Reed played in 48 games with 39 starts, recording 152 career tackles, eight interceptions (three returned for touchdowns), 35 passes defensed and 8.5 tackles for loss.
